About Us

Michael was born on April 3rd, 1973 in Leominster, MA.  He was president of his class, editor of the school newspaper and an all-star running back at Leominster High School. He was popular, successful, intelligent and talented.  And at the age of 18, during his senior year, he was diagnosed with clinical depression.  Michael sought treatment and went on to graduate Cum Laude from Harvard University in 1995.  In 1997, he moved to California where he continued to battle with cycles of depression.  On February 4th, 2003, soon after a series of painful events, Michael disappeared from his home and has not been seen or heard from since.

In partnership with the SHINE Initiative, Fidelity Bank and HealthAlliance, and with the love and support of our family friends and community, we have been able to share Michael’s story and the struggles of depression with people throughout the region.  We have raised thousands of dollars which we continue to put right back into our community to support mental health services and resources.  To this date, Michael’s Run has donated:

  • $10,000 to the Leominster Education Foundation
  • $5,000 to HealthAlliance emergency mental health treatment services
  • $2,000 toward helping to facilitate support resources for parents and families
  • $5,000 to launch the “Let’s Go 1, 2, 3 Wellness Program”

We are currently working toward developing a program focused on helping local children at risk and we will continue to support emergency treatment services and resources.

Please consider joining us for our Party with a Purpose on Saturday, May 13th, 2017, and our 5K walk/run & BBQ on Saturday, October 14th, 2017.
